Illustration Friday – Blanket

This is mine for this week - Blanket. This is the longest time I took to come up an idea. First, I have an idea to make a totally flat piece of blanket and I was thinking to create a lot of patterns/decorative details on the blanket. Then, I had the idea to make it a 'humanature' blanket. Until today's morning, I have to nail down the idea and start drawing – I had an idea coming from the weather nowaday – freezing cold. Then, I was thinking a girl (just showing a head backward, feel like shaking because of the freezing weather) wrapping with a thick blanket. After that, I was thinking of making a 'humanature' tree root kind of unique blanket. Then, that's it! Still experimenting the new media of digital painterly style to paint this piece. Feel free to give me some comments. You can also see the piece below I named "Roots" which I am still doing it but I want to show you the progress. I think it is important to show your peer what I am working on it, so we can all share the joy of creating.

Feels like there's a lot of emotion here, the colors and the line and the gesture. Very cool, or should I say cold (0; Hope it warms up soon for you!

Very Nice Timothy. I like how nature is a recurring theme in yor work. I like your digital style. Very nice. The illustration has a feeling of solitude that comes through well.....just a woman and her blanket.

You've put a lot of thought and hard work into this piece. I like the way art speaks to you and the way you translate it. Nice job!

This is awesome... it reminds me of the sort of thing I used to draw when I was younger. Not in a derogatory way- the sort of stuff I'd like to get back INTO drawing. (I was way more hard core when I was younger)
