Illustration Friday – GRAVITY

I have fun this time. Concept, of course, is from Newton's story about the falling apple and discovered GRAVITY. However, I did this concept with a flair of surrealism. I used the colors are not real with a sunset scene as background which gives a juxtaposing effect. I became more comfortable to use watercolor and I did on Arches 140 lb cold press watercolor block. It was challenging because the ink from the pen I used was bleeding and blended with watercolor-a subtle effect for the shadow. It makes more dramatic and mysterious. I like it a lot. Give me some comments.

Great illustration. You're right it is very dramatic and the face in the tree really adds to that feeling of mystic. The detail in the tree, like octopus tenticals, and the strange apple, it could be a land under sea.
